Adipex (phentermine) is an anti-obesity medicine specially designed for the treatment of obesity in people with a wide array of other medical problems, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol levels. Please make sure you also tell your doctor if you have any other issues, such as glaucoma, overactive thyroid gland, heart disease, history of drug abuse, or arteriosclerosis, as it’s important for your doctor to know your full medical history. Such side effects as unpleasant taste, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and dry mouth can be experienced at the beginning of the treatment, but are not expected to last for too long. If those mild side effects change in intensity or get more bothersome – do report them to your doctor to see if the dose is to high or something needs to be changed in your dosing schedule. Never start using any other medications when using Adipex and tell your doctor if you are already taking any when Adipex is being prescribed. The following medicines have been reported to cause interactions with Adipex: fluoxetine, vitamins, sertraline, guanethidine, medications for weight loss and depression, insulin, MAO inhibitors, paroxetine, and fluvoxamine, although this list is not complete and you may need to ask your doctor about other medicines you are using.
